The Recession
We are all too aware of the recession
currently under way. Some of our members already have been made
redundant. Regrettably, others are likely to follow.
At times such as these we must remind
ourselves of the opportunities available to us, within our own
community, which exist to assist those in need.
By contacting
wardens@busheyus.org members requiring equipment or items and
furnishings of any kind might be able to take advantage of a gemach
fund established for that purpose. Donations are also welcome.
Our community also has a well established
gemach fund for those in financial need subject to certain
qualifying conditions being met. Applications should be made to our
Financial Representative,
fr@busheyus.org, in the first instance.
Bushey Community Cares, for so long
at the forefront of our social welfare programme (020 8950 3344)
comprises a team of volunteers expert in many fields who may be able to
offer practical assistance in a variety of ways.
Bushey Community Cares is also
establishing a network of those within our community who will offer,
either free of charge or at reduced rates, their services in a wide
range of areas of expertise.
We also are able to put those who are
looking for work in touch with those who may be able to offer it –
whether temporarily or on a permanent basis. Indeed, we have available
now a dedicated volunteer able to monitor and coordinate those who fall
under this umbrella in the hope that jobs can be filled. Please let us
know if you are able to offer employment or are looking for work.
If you require such services please do not
hesitate to make contact either as above or via the office (020 8950
7340 or
administrator@busheyus.org).
All communications will be treated in
absolute confidence.
